For Indian interior designers & contractors
Interior quotation template for Indian projects
A useful interior quotation format explains what the client is buying, how it is measured and what is excluded. Use the blank printable template below as a starting point, then replace every placeholder with your project details.
Free blank quotation template
No account is needed to open this template. It is an HTML print sheet, with blank spaces for company details, rooms, specifications, item amounts and terms. Open it, select Print, and choose your printer or your browser's Save as PDF option.
The blank sheet has no automatic calculations or company logo upload. To enter items and generate a branded quotation, open the quotation app.
Interior quotation format: the essential columns
| Column | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Room / location | Kitchen, master bedroom, living room or the precise work area. |
| Work item and specification | Item, material, thickness, finish, hardware and installation scope. |
| Measurement basis / unit | Front elevation in sq ft, agreed running feet, number of units or lump sum. |
| Quantity | The checked measurement or count, with provisional quantities identified. |
| Unit rate | The agreed rate in rupees for the stated specification and unit. |
| Amount | Quantity × unit rate. Sum item amounts to get the subtotal. |
Above the item table, include your business name, contact details, client, site address, quotation number, date, revision and validity. Below it, show discounts, applicable taxes, other charges and the final total clearly.
Worked example using the format
A wardrobe measured on a front-elevation basis is 6 ft wide and 8 ft high. Its quoted area is 6 × 8 = 48 sq ft. At an illustrative rate of ₹1,400 per sq ft, the amount is ₹67,200. If a separately quoted TV unit costs ₹25,000, the subtotal is ₹92,200 before discounts, applicable taxes and any other charges.
These numbers demonstrate the format; they are not market rates. A price needs a defined material specification, hardware list and agreed measurement basis. See the wardrobe guide for a fuller example.
Write terms the client can understand
- Included work: name the items, finishes, fittings and installation you will deliver.
- Excluded work: state whether civil work, electrical work, appliances, loose furniture and debris removal are outside the quoted scope.
- Payment schedule: describe the agreed milestones, amounts and due dates.
- Delivery: state the expected schedule and dependencies, such as site readiness or material approval.
- Changes: explain how additional work or specification changes will be priced and approved.
- Acceptance: provide space for the client and contractor to confirm the quotation version and date.
A quotation template is a starting format. Review the final commercial terms for the specific project before the client accepts them.
Can I use this quotation format in Excel?
Yes. Use the same columns in a spreadsheet, calculate each amount as quantity × rate, and sum only the amount cells for the subtotal. Check the total range after adding rows and keep taxes and charges separate. This download is an HTML print template; it is not an Excel workbook.
