Modular kitchen quotation format and worked example

Quote a modular kitchen by its actual cabinets and specification. A clear quotation separates base units, wall units, tall units, hardware and other work so clients can understand what is included in the price.

Measure and describe each cabinet group

Start with the final kitchen layout and checked site dimensions. List base cabinets, wall cabinets and tall units separately. Identify corner units, appliance gaps, fillers and any areas that will not receive cabinets.

Write the measurement method beside the rate. Running feet describe length; square feet describe area. If your square-foot rate uses front elevation, state the width and height used. Do not convert between these units without the agreed height and pricing basis.

For example, a 10 ft cabinet run at an agreed 2.5 ft front height has a front elevation of 25 sq ft. That calculation does not define the cabinet depth or mean a running-foot rate and a square-foot rate cover the same scope.

Sample modular kitchen quotation

The sample uses illustrative rates for arithmetic only. It is not an Indian market-price guide or a quotation for a complete kitchen.

Selected kitchen items; before discounts and taxes
Item / basisQuantityRateAmount
Base cabinets, front elevation25 sq ft₹1,500 / sq ft₹37,500
Wall cabinets, front elevation20 sq ft₹1,300 / sq ft₹26,000
Separately specified drawer hardware3 sets₹3,000 / set₹9,000
Subtotal₹72,500

Only quote hardware separately when the cabinet rate excludes it. If it is already included, list it in the specification and avoid charging for it twice. Add a separate line for each agreed charge or optional upgrade.

Specifications to attach to the quotation

Write the specification for each cabinet group instead of using only a label such as “premium kitchen”. Record any colour, hardware or finish selections still awaiting approval.

Make inclusions and exclusions visible

Confirm who supplies the hob, chimney, sink and other appliances. State whether your price includes the countertop, plumbing, electrical points, wall tiling, transport and installation. If another contractor handles a work package, list it as excluded and identify any site readiness your installation depends on.

Show optional pull-outs or upgraded hardware in a separate section. The client can then approve the base scope and add options without confusing the totals. Keep a revised quotation when the layout or specification changes.
